The day started too early and Lae felt she was constantly running behind. From leaving for work .. to being eight minutes late granting her a lecture about punctuality from her employer. She was late on several reports by a few minutes and finally missed having her lunch break altogether.
After the lunch break Carol dropped off another report that needed typing and filing before the end of the day. Lae looked up and without thinking twice responded. "You know I have six of your reports that are suppose to be typed up and on your desk before five pm. Now you stick another report on my desk and expect it to have the same deadline.. well I am telling you right now.. I am not your secretary or your flunky.. I am sick of you pawning off your work to me or anyone else because you feel that you are better then the rest of us. So I'll tell you what.. you take that report and you do it yourself.. and I'll think about getting these other reports finished after I take a ten minutes break since you made damned sure that I couldn't take my lunch break."
Before Carol could say anything Lae walked away from her desk and into the break room. Thankfully no one followed her or they would have seen her break down and start crying. Lae had never stood up to Carol or anyone before and it rattled her conscious and her nerves.
All she could hope for now was to pull herself back together enough to make it through the rest of the day and hopefully have some replies to her post.
