He sat among his people and often felt like an outcast the way the tribal leaders glanced his way.
"Wayasti, you are a man now and you can choose a new name to be known among the people, but before that is finished I want you to go on a vision quest." The eldest man of the circle told him.
The eyes of the council looked his way and waited for an answer.
Steel Ice Eyes looked to the man and a voice as calm sunshine replied "I will go."
That was three years ago and even today Wayasti was haunted by a strange dream. He saw himself hovering over a woman's face while he took her in a savage need, spilling her first blood and leaving her bruised, battered, and full of his seed. Wayasti knew that his dream meant something but couldn't place his finger on the truth of the need to fulfill this dream.
It was true that Wayasti visited several therapists in search of why his dream kept getting more clearer, how he could smell her scent and how his heart raced when he awoke.
"Personally I see it as the instinctual need to procreate offspring and find a suitable as well as compatible mate." Was the statement his last counselor told him in the final session.
While walking to the local bus stop Wayasti stopped dead in his tracks. There was something in the air, a faint scent of someone that was fresh, clean.. bordering on honeysuckle. The nostrils flared to receive the sweet scent as his heart pounded loud like the drums in pow wow.
ITS HER!
Wayasti looked over the five women that was waiting for the bus. Three of them old and weary but the remaining two were to be in the late 20's or early 30's. He had to find out more as he quickly scanned over their bodies tryoing to find a match to the woman in his dreams.
Yet as he passed each one on his way to a seat the scent was absent. How could that be, he had smelled her scent it was there at the stop and all of them had gotten abroad. Finally he took his seat and glanced out the window behind them at the stop. How could I have been wrong? ...
