"What I Want For Christmas" written by K.Rooste
Dear Santa,
I for the last year was very good, doing my chores around the house and helping mom with my little brother.
As for what I want for Christmas, that is difficult to put into words.
While I was awake late and thinking about what all you might be so kind and give me as my Christmas presents, I heard a noise. I got up, being female I am quite inquisitive about most things, especially strange noises in the late evening hours.
Sneaking out of my bedroom the quick note was of a light coming from under the closed door to the office and study room where father does his late night work on the computer. I did not wish to disturb him, he works so hard to give us all of what we have a need, and after we are all in bed he stays for hours doing what he does on his computer.
Only on this one night and after seeing he was working and might have made the odd noise, I returned to my bedroom and went back to bed, sleeping until almost sun up. I got out of bed and saw yet the lights on in the study, so wondering if father was still there, or had left the lights on by mistake, I opened the door to check and see inside the room.
There at the desk and in his chair sat father, he had fallen asleep during his late night working.
I wanted to give him a good morning kiss, but when standing behind him, I looked at his computer screen and there I saw something unspeakable. There on the screen was what the boys at school call a photo morph, it a blending of a beautiful woman’s naked torso and the neck, shoulders and behind of a golden Palomino horse.
It made no sense to me then, as why such would be up on the computer screen and father looking at it so late at night.
Creeping out before he awoke, I returned to my bedroom and crawled back into bed.
Later, after everybody was awake and moving about, getting ready for a Saturday of winter time fun, I went into the study again, seeing the computer still on, I moved the mouse.
There in place of the horse woman was this story, and reading it, I felt sad for my father, he read a story about…, well you can read it at:

I love my father, but if it would make him happy to be as other than he is, then as my present and his, let him be then his happiest self!
